• In the year of application (or in previous year if they were on a gap year), applicants must: • Have been enrolled at either Southland Boys’ High School or Southland Girls’ High School; and have been studying for a University Entrance qualification or equivalent. • Two scholarships are available annually: normally one for applicants from Southland Boys’ High School and one for applicants from Southland Girls’ High School. If, in any year, there are no applicants from one of the schools, both scholarships are made available to applicants from the other school. • The scholarship is awarded by Te Kaunihera | University Council on the recommendation of a selection committee comprising: • The Tumu Whakarae | Vice-Chancellor (or nominee); and • The Kaitakawaenga | Liaison Officer for Murihiku Southland (or nominee).
